Can online homeschooling be as good as face-to-face homeschooling?
Convenience
many students are already using video chat to talk to their peers as they study. Facetime, Skype, Google + Hangouts, and Facebook video chat are already becoming the go-to tools when students are looking for help.
no visiting learning centers that identify you as a struggling student.
Parents can feel comfortable monitoring the tutoring sessions.
safety
A student does not have to travel daily to reach his tuition center or a tutor does not have to travel to student’s home.
Online tutoring is convenient for many students who stay in remote areas where there may be dearth of good teachers.
avoid hassles of commuting.
Online tutoring can connect you to any tutor in America. You can be sitting at home on your couch and receive tutoring lessons from a grad student at Yale, or MIT!
develop skills that are necessary to thrive in this new digital age.
I also like how it takes away distracting social elements, like they way you’re dressed or awkwardly being in an unfamiliar place, body language and social cues. If you drop a pencil, you can pick it up while talkig and not miss a beat, or stay silent as the student thinks without distracting them. In person, you would both have to acknowledge it and make snall talk about to avoid being rude and “ignoring” the other person.
I feel like when I throw on some noise canceling headphones and my student does the same, all the background distractions disappear. It’s them and me for an hour or an hour and a half where we can focus 100% on the goal for that day. You can’t get that kind of focus in-person.
a better chance of finding a tutor online than face-to-face.
Also, tutors and students can enjoy the comfort of being in their own home.
save and backup conversations for later reference.
shorter, more frequent lessons possible
Empowering Techniques
The perceived anonymity of online learning creates a safety net for even the shyest student to ask questions and explain what they need to understand within the comfort of their home.
Rooney says, "Students who use online tutoring develop their questioning skills and become more interested and engaged in their own learning. Teachers report students who use online tutoring ask more questions in class."
Additionally, online tutoring allows kids to utilize different technologies, a skill that's becoming increasingly important in our world. Kids "enjoy using the technology they love [computer, tablet and phone] to connect to someone for help that is completely focused on them and their problem," she shares.

What if I'm late? Will the tutor wait for me?
Will wait 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you will be considered a "no-show". I will leave and no refunds will be issued and no there will be no makeup lessons or rescheduled lessons.
However, it will cut into your lesson time. I have reserved a block of time for you. I have other students scheduled around your time. I cannot give you extra time at the end of your lesson because you were late.
